Qigong (Chi kung) (pronounced “chee-gong”), is the root of Tai Chi and Acupuncture and referred to some as Chinese Yoga. In this 60-minute class, you will experience:
These practices are designed to help you feel external energy while increasing circulation throughout your body, have greater focus, and build strength. The focus is on building a qi-energy (aka prana) reservoir in your core and being more aware of balance, breath and alignment, which will ultimately cross over into your Yoga practice as well. During this class, we go through the movements slowly, with the intention of having correct posture and form to maximize the circulation of energy throughout the body. Beginners follow along easily in this powerful and enjoyable practice. Although we sometimes hold a posture longer to make corrections, we primarily flow from one movement to another, attaining a deep meditational state to promote relaxation while strengthening the muscles and improving circulation, flexibility, and an overall sense of wellbeing. All ages and fitness levels are welcome. |
