Geriatric Massage: The Art & Science of Massage for the Aging Adult
Gentle, compassionate touch helps relieve pain, improve mood, provide comfort, and promote healing for those living with the effects of aging. In these sessions, the client may choose to be fully clothed, or undress to his or her comfort level. Massage techniques and positioning will be adjusted accordingly depending on client goals, health, and fitness level. For more on Geriatric Massage and Elder-ssage, please click here.
Imagine the benefits of being soothed by this slowed down energy, by the firm yet gentle pressure of these perfectly heated stones. Full Body Hot Stone Massage not only provides intensely deep relaxation but also enables a client to enter into a deep space for healing within minutes of its application due to the physiological response to the heat. I use rocks as extensions of my hands for most of the massage, and some stones also will be placed on your body, or over the sheet, to keep you warm. I also use an integrated approach— from subtle energy techniques such as Reiki and Crystal Healing, to deep Shiatsu-Acupressure techniques depending on your goals and intentions for the session. People touched by this technique value it for more than just its physical rewards; many praise it for the entire experience—a complete body, mind, and spirit treatment.
Integrative Massage

Integrative Massage combines techniques from an array of therapies, such as Swedish, Deep Tissue, Lomi Lomi, Shiatsu, Reiki, and CranioSacral, resulting in an overall sense of well-being. It reduces stress, relieves muscular tension or spasm, and increases circulation and energy flow.
This massage begins with some light rocking and compression over the top sheet. Gentle pressure is used to calm your nervous system and begin releasing superficial tension.
Gradually, deeper pressure, as well as deep tissue techniques, may be used to address specific areas. Rather than “Deep Tissue Massage”, however, this is a lighter, more gentle, approach to addressing deep physical (and sometimes emotional) holdings of tension, pain, and stress. Optional: Clients may request that the final half or third of the session be devoted to CranioSacral Therapy rather than massage.
Meridian Massage

Meridian Massage is a relaxing and invigorating massage that integrates East and West by using classic massage strokes focused on acu-meridian channels. The focus of this bodywork will be improving flexibility and circulation of bodily fluids and qi. Some Shiatsu (acupressure) will be included.
